In the latter weeks of 2023 I was fortunate to have access to the necessary support systems allowing for a literal heart tune up. In the photos you see the heart & heart valve anatomy. In an open heart surgery, the fantastic team of professionals at the University of California San Diego Hospital repaired 5 different concerns in that most important bit of my anatomy. I am awed and tremendously grateful for all the the support & love given to me during this healing journey by professionals, friends, and family. Here are a couple of photos of supportive friends. My “Heart” is full of gratitude!
Now we are 6 months into 2024. In my retirement I have chosen to volunteer with the San Diego Chapter of the League of Women Voters. In these pics we have volunteer work for a Candidate Public Forum sponsored by the League (of which there will be many in election year 2024) and a trip to Tijuana, Mexico to meet & celebrate with Central American immigrants who are waiting for their asylum status approvals. Working with the League has opened another world of involvement that has been a fantastic learning experience.
