“Rewind in 2022” King’s Canyon Yoga and Sound Immersion Retreat

It is surprising to me that many people have never heard of the gorgeous National Parks in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, those south of Yosemite National Park. Yosemite of course is extremely famous for the wonderful views that are so often photographed as you enter that Park. 112 miles south of Yosemite are the National Parks, King’s Canyon and Sequoia. I highly encourage those of you who have not yet experienced these Parks to put them on your bucket lists.

In the National Forest lying between the two Parks is a very special Retreat facility, Camp Far Horizons. The Theosophical Society was granted a 99 year lease of this property in the 1950’s. Continuing to operate five months of the year, the Camp is without electricity or constant wireless connectivity, thus their promo “Disconnect to Reconnect”. My friend El Larson and I were happy to return to Far Horizons this year as a “Rewind” of our 2021 Retreat. We were excited and pleased to meet new faces and welcome returning students.

Our schedule included Ashtanga based yoga, chair yoga, pranayama, philosophy study, and evening Sound Bath Meditations. The 3 meals a day (inclusive) offered exceptional vegetarian/vegan cuisine. No instant camp food! The camaraderie of the group has left us with wonderful memories and nurtured new friendships. Many thanks to everyone involved; staff, volunteers, and retreatants. Wishing to you All beautiful closing months in this current growth filled year, 2022.

In Gratitude 🕉 Love ❤ & Joy 😊

Inner Yoga & Sound Immersion 2021

This Retreat in Kings Canyon National Park in early August was a truly extraordinary event! Putting together a workshop of this type within the lingering shadow of the Covid pandemic was a bit like diving off a high cliff into deep water with no life vest. The Universal Divine smiled on us in everyway, for this I am beyond grateful.

Far Horizon’s Retreat Camp is situated in a fantastically beautiful section of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The photos give an impression, but to be there is magical. Our group was an intimate gathering of hardy beautiful “peeps” who blossomed like the mystical lotus lily over the 4 days we shared. The staff of Far Horizons was top notch, the accommodations (despite the spiders and mice!) were rustic camp comfortable, and the vegetarian/vegan kitchen was fantastic. We shared inspired asana classes, philosophy discussions, and amazing Sound Bath Meditations; interwoven with hiking and sightseeing adventures. Thanks to all of you who made this happy event possible! AND El and I have been asked to return in summer of 2022!! Mark those calendars.

Wishing you all a safe journey into the remainder of this year, thinking ahead to 2022, please keep the faith that the Universe is providing what we All need in response to the energies we are All creating, aka “What goes around comes around”. Choosing Light and Love ☮🕉✝☸✡☯💜

Super Blue Blood Moon 2018

What a magnificent celestial event! Super in that the moon was near its closest point to the Earth, Blue as the second full moon to occur in the month, Blood created by the red tints of scattering light rays (similar to a sunrise/set), with an Eclipse, the passing of the moon through the earth’s shadow. A perfect occasion for celebration! Thank you to everyone who participated in our Super Full Moon Meditation and Sound Healing on the evening of January 31.

Drawing on my background in Meditation and Tibetan Buddhist techniques, we came together to practice visualization, chanting, and meditation at the Communitea Yoga Studio in Oceanside, CA. Jenn Paez provided her knowledge and expertise in offering a cacao elixir ritual and a gong healing bath. Our friend Dass performed beautiful native American flute accompaniment. By coming together as a community during special celestial events we are using our personal energies to align with and increase the benefits of cosmic light and love, for ourselves and our planet.

Many thanks to Tina Fitzgerald, director and owner of Communitea Yoga Studio, a beautiful space! We hope to see you all again for future celebrations of light and love.
